How to Brew Nourish U's Organic Barley Coffee (Orzo)
So you've thought about decaffeinating your life and giving our barley coffee (orzo) a go, or you have been using it for a while and want to try it in a different brew, but aren't sure? This is the place to look. Barley coffee is similar to barley tea but can be brewed in a lot of different ways, each giving it's unique touch on the final drink. Keep reading below to find out how to best brew our organic barley coffee in different ways
Espresso Machine:
You will not be disappointed by the way the barley brew comes out of the espresso machine! This barley coffee grind has been tested and optimised for use in a home coffee machine. We have found that the best crema comes out when using the single shot double walled filter. There is no need for packing it tightly, and it is best to fill it up a little less than a normal coffee grind in order to allow the barley to expand as it brews. A good way to tell you have enough barley in the filter is that the handle should only feel slightly tight when inserting and turning in place.
Moka pot:
Brewing in a moka pot is easy. Simply replace the coffee grind with Nourish U's organic barley coffee and away you go! The brewing will be quicker than coffee and it will not gurgle as much since the grind is more coarse than regular coffee. As it comes out the spout it creates a bubble matrix which settles down with a little stirring, or as it is poured out.
French press:
This is another great way to enjoy Nourish U's organic barley coffee. It is as easy as replacing your coffee grind for our barley grind! Let those particles settle and pour slowly
